The liberal world order is in decay as civic participation crumbles, social participation gives room to passive consumption, and citizens let themselves be overpowered by the elites. Not so in the ISIE! A hardy band of dedicated nominating committee members has produced an excellent slate of diverse candidates. A volunteer has given the society a new website encouraging engagement through the opportunity to announce, blog, and engage in an online discussion forum. A dedicated leadership has put the society on a new, nimbler organizational footing, creating room to take strategic initiative. Our first conference in an emerging economy is just months away.
With the dedication of its members and officers, the society faces a bright future.
