Sample Data Availability Statements

Data Availability Statements for Author Use

Below is a list of standardized, suggested text for the statements that will appear in the “Data Availability Statement” portion of your article. The suggested text statements adhere to guidelines for journals such as the Journal of Industrial Ecology that have an “Expects Data” policy. For guidance on the formatting of the data availability statement, click here.

Please note that you may need to use more than one data availability statement. For example, if you have compiled your own data and also use data from a commercial dataset (e.g., ecoinvent), you would use statements 1,2,5, 7, 9, or 10 plus 6. For authors using commercial life cycle assessment datasets, statement 6 is appropriate.
