About
Oludunsin has a career objective of devising methodologies and providing information that directs research, management, policy, decision-making and governance towards sustainability.Details
Oludunsin holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Geography from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria (2008) and an Erasmus Mundus Master of Science in Geoinformation Science and Earth Observation for Environmental Modelling and Management (GEM) from Lund University, Sweden and ITC, University of Twente, Netherlands (2012). After one year of compulsory national service for all Nigerian graduates, he worked with Lime Associates in Nigeria as a researcher in 2010. He also worked as a volunteer researcher with his MSc. thesis supervisor (Alexey Voinov) after the completion of his MSc. program at the Lund University, Sweden and ITC, University of Twente, the Netherlands in 2012. Oludunsin did his Doctorate degree at the University of Potsdam and the Leibniz Center for Agricultural Landscape Research (ZALF), Muencheberg, Germany. Oludunsin's research interest and previous research experiences are in the field of Land cover/use issues, bioenergy potential assessments, remote sensing and GIS (Geographical Information Systems), Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA), Sustainability Assessments, Sustainability Impact Assessment (SIA), Participatory research, Energy transition indicators, Energy efficiency assessments, and Life Cycle Assessments (LCA) and Life Cycle Sustainability Assessments (LCSA).Oludunsin is a recognized future research leader in areas of energy transitions, landscape ecology, sustainability, life cycle sustainability assessment tools, approaches and frameworks. He is currently a board member of the Life Cycle Sustainability Assessment Section of the International Society for Industrial Ecology. Oludunsin has devised and applied methodologies for holistic life cycle sustainability assessment of bioenergy systems at local, regional and global scales. His works are increasingly being cited in literatures. He has published severally in high impact journals and has presented his work orally across Europe, North America, Africa and Australia. He has further demonstrated global leadership potentials through his receipt of several awards, fellowships and grants among which are the Young Scientist Summer Program Fellowship of the International Institute for Applied System analysis (IIASA, Laxenburg, Austria), EU Marie Curie Sklodowska Innovative Training Network CASTLE (Careers in Sustainability Excellence), Top 30 under 30 Wall of the International Association of Impact Assessment, Yale Sustainability Leadership Forum Scholarship, Foreign Scholar Travel Award, US-IALE Travel Award and the NASA-MSU Award of the International Association of Landscape Ecology (IALE), AXA Research Fund Future Research Leader in Energy Transition Fellowship etc. Oludunsin worked recently as a Senior Circular Economy Researcher at the Irish Manufacturing Research. He currently works with the State University of New York, College of Environmental Sciences and Forestry on the development of a carbon accounting framework for harvested wood products in New York State, United States.
