Xiuli Liu is a professor at the Academy of Mathematics and Systems Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and director of the Laboratory of Economic Analysis and Forecasting Science.Details
Xiuli Liu has been a senior visiting scholar at Harvard University, the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and New York University during 2008-2024, and is a leading talent in scientific and technological innovation under the National Ten Thousand Talents Program. She has published over 120 papers in top and important international journals such as Sustainable Production and Consumption, Energy, Nutrients, Desalination, and the European Journal of Agronomy, and has authored four English and Chinese monographs and co-edited 15 books. Her policy research reports have received dozens of instructions from national leaders, and some of her suggestions have been incorporated into national development plans or adopted by relevant management departments, effectively supporting the scientific decision-making of relevant departments. Xiuli Liu has long been offering courses in Input-Output Analysis to doctoral students from third-world countries, promoting the application of Input-Output analysis methods in countries such as Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh, Nigeria, Uzbekistan, and more. In 2008, she became a member of the International Input-Output Association (IIOA), and from that point forward, she has been an enthusiastic participant in eight of the association's conferences, presenting her research findings, chairing sessions, and serving as a member of the Scientific Program Committee.She concurrently serves as the vice chairman and executive director of the China Input-Output Association, executive director of the Operations Research Society of China, member of the System Theory Professional Committee of the Systems Engineering Society of China, executive member of the Water Conservancy System Engineering Professional Committee, and vice president of the China Input-Output and Big Data Research Association, among others. Some of her research achievements have received important awards such as the second prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award, the first prize of the Dayu Water Conservancy Science and Technology Award, the first prize of the Huaxia Construction Science and Technology Award, the second prize of the Science and Technology Development Promotion Award of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the first prize of the Beijing Science and Technology Award.
