Dr. Yongze Song is an Associate Professor at Curtin University, Australia. He is an Australian Young Tall Poppy Science Award Winner, Royal Geographical Society (RGS) Fellow, UK, Harvard SDL Fellow, US, and DAAD AInet Fellow, Germany.

Yongze leads the Geospatial Intelligence Lab, maintaining strong industry networks and delivering industry-driven research projects about sustainable infrastructure management using emerging technologies. He developed more than 20 new geospatial methods and 12 R software packages with over 200,000 downloads for understanding geographical and spatial data. He published over 130 peer-reviewed journal articles, including 9 highly-cited papers. He is a recipient of more than ten awards at international and national levels, such as the Geospatial World 50 Rising Stars, the Global Top 10 Young Scientist Award, World’s Top 2% Scientists by Stanford University, and the Australian National Location Data First Prize.

He is an Associate Editor of five international peer-reviewed journals, including Q1 journals of International Journal of Applied Earth Observation and Geoinformation, GIScience & Remote Sensing, and Geoscientific Model Development. He serves as an Editorial Board Member of 15 journals, a Chair or Program Committee Member for over 30 international conferences, and a peer reviewer for over 70 journals. He was invited to present more than 80 research seminars at universities (e.g., Harvard University, MIT, Yale, ANU, NUS, etc.) and industries globally.

He has supervised more than 70 young researchers, including 40 PhD students, originating from 20 countries across five continents.
