About

PhD candidate focusing on the quantification of the impacts of Circular Economy measures with a combination of different Industrial Ecology tools like Life Cycle Assessment, Life Cycle Costing, and Material Flow Analysis.

Details

I obtained a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Industrial Engineering and Management from Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) in Germany. During my Master’s, my main interests were modeling, simulation, and optimization in combination with the quantification of environmental effects through Life Cycle Assessment in industry applications. My Master’s thesis involved the simulation-based optimization of reverse logistics for a Circular Economy application by including economic and environmental measures in digitalized inventory management. After graduating, I worked as a scientific trainee at the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre. In this role, I modeled and simulated the EU steel market using a Life Cycle Assessment framework to quantify the environmental, social, and economic impacts of Circular Economy policies.
In October 2024, I started a PhD at the Department of Industrial Ecology of CML at Leiden University.
