I joined the Department of Environmental Science and Management (ESM) at North South University (NSU) as a Lecturer in July 2024. Currently, I am teaching courses on Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and Introduction to Environmental Science. In January 2025, I was selected as the Principal Investigator for a research grant from NSU to conduct a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) on a specific industry in collaboration with the Decoupling Lab of ESM.

Details

I graduated from the Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters Program in Sustainable and Innovative Natural Resources Management (SINReM) with a Magna Cum Laude distinction in 2023. In 2013, I earned my B.Sc. in Materials and Metallurgical Engineering (MME) with Honors from the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET).

I have published a journal article and a conference paper based on my bachelor's thesis on Al-Si alloys. Another publication as the first author is on the way, based on my master's thesis work on Hydrogen Reduction of Cassiterite.

Before joining NSU, I accumulated 9.5 years of diverse industrial experience across various sectors, including multinational and local manufacturing industries (such as arc welding electrodes and steel rods), plastic recycling startups, ISO certification and training service providers, as well as European research institutes. Throughout my career, I have developed valuable expertise in operations, quality and environmental management, health and safety, research and development, training, and project management.

I have experience in implementing Quality Management Systems and hold a Lead Auditor certification for ISO 9001:2015. Additionally, I am a Certified Lead Auditor for ISO 45001:2018 and 50001:2018. I also coordinated ISO 14001:2015 activities at the Linde Bangladesh Rupganj Site.

Research Interests

For my future PhD and academic research, I aim to explore topics such as industrial symbiosis, life cycle assessment (LCA), waste management, materials recycling and recovery, and the decarbonization of metallurgical processes.
