About

Systems-Thinking Sustainability Researcher | LCA · TEA · Industrial Ecology | Decarbonization & Circular Economy.
I am a sustainability researcher and engineer with deep expertise in Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), Techno-Economic Analysis (TEA), and Industrial Ecology, with a focus on decarbonization pathways, circular economy strategies, and waste-to-value systems. My work bridges rigorous quantitative modeling with real-world environmental decision-making — from urban agriculture systems and sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) to municipal solid waste recovery and wastewater treatment.

I combine process engineering foundations (ASPEN Plus, OpenLCA) with systems-level thinking to evaluate environmental and economic trade-offs across full product lifecycles. I have contributed to peer-reviewed research on exergy analysis and material metabolism, and I bring direct experience managing analytical laboratory operations and delivering environmental compliance consultancy.

Currently seeking roles at the intersection of industrial decarbonization, sustainable technology scale-up, and carbon intensity analysis — where I can help organizations move from sustainability commitments to measurable impact.

Details

I am a chemical engineer and sustainability researcher with a Ph.D. from the Institute of Chemical Technology (ICT), Mumbai (2016), where my doctoral work — co-supervised by Prof. Bhavik R. Bakshi (Ohio State) and Prof. Aniruddha B. Pandit — pioneered the application of industrial ecology and thermodynamic systems analysis to India's developmental metabolism. My research produced novel quantitative insights into how a rapidly industrializing economy consumes and destroys resources, and rigorously evaluated municipal solid waste treatment alternatives — incineration, plasma gasification, and landfilling — under India's tropical conditions and heterogeneous waste streams.

I hold an M.Chem.Engg. from ICT Mumbai and a B.Tech. in Chemical Engineering from Anuradha Engineering College, Amravati University, providing a strong process engineering foundation that underpins my systems-level research.

Beyond academia, I bring hands-on industrial experience in waste treatment process design and environmental engineering, including:

Developing technology platforms for recovering value-added chemicals from industrial wastewater

Designing process infrastructure and preparing Basic Engineering Packages, PFDs, and mass balance calculations

Optimizing and troubleshooting chemical processes at operational scale

My career sits at the intersection of quantitative sustainability modeling and applied process engineering — a combination that enables me to move fluidly between rigorous LCA/TEA research and practical technology deployment. I am particularly focused on circular economy strategies, decarbonization of industrial systems, and waste-to-value innovation in resource-constrained contexts.
