Sofie Férauge was born in Brussels, Belgium. They obtained a Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering: Materials from the Free University of Brussels in 2022. In the fall of 2022, they started as a PhD researcher in the Sustainability Assessment of Materials and Circular Economy research group at KU Leuven. Their research focuses on targets in the circular economy and the use of material flow analysis to examine how such targets are operationalised and to assess their implications under different regulatory, economic, and technological scenarios. Outside academia, they have a strong interest in pottery, botany, and listening to audiobooks.
