About

I am a research scientist in sustainable engineering at the University of Pittsburgh. I received my PhD in engineering from the University of Georgia with a focus on resilient infrastructure systems and completed postdoctoral training in qualitative methods in engineering education research at Oregon State University prior to my current position at Pitt. My research uses mixed methods and systems thinking to advance context-sensitive circular economy strategies in cities, communities, and institutional contexts, with a particular focus on plastics and building materials. I joined the ISIE Sustainable Urban Systems section board in 2024 and currently work remotely from rural Montana.
