My name is Xin Bian, a PhD Student at Chalmers University of Technology. I work at the interface of two research fields – namely material stocks and urban morphology. MY research focuses on gaining a deeper insight into the influence of urban planning on the materials accumulated in the built environment, including their composition, volume, and associated environmental impacts. By integrating resource use and embodied carbon to into existing urban morphology metrics, my research has the potential to inform a more sustainable urban development.
