The Faculty of Environment and Natural Resources at the University of Freiburg, Germany, invites applications for a Junior Professorship (W1) "Transformation towards Sustainable Energy Systems" with Tenure Track, Fulltime position, start date: asap.

This professorship is particularly suitable for highly qualified early career researchers. The new chair shall develop and refine instruments for environmental regulation which are necessary for the transformation towards sustainable energy systems and investigate policy formulation and operational implementation under changing technical, societal, and economic conditions.
The main research focus will be on developing coordinated legal and fiscal management tools as well as managerial control instruments for the transformation towards sustainable energy systems.

The successful applicant is able to demonstrate
• Research experience in environmental regulation and environmental management related to renewable energy and the energy transition or the transformation to sustainable renewable energy systems in general
• Legal expertise at the interface to economic sciences
• An interdisciplinary research profile
