Multidisciplinary Tenured/Tenure-Track Openings in Manufacturing or Energy and Sustainability
The College of Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, GA, invites applications for multiple tenured or tenure-track faculty positions across two multidisciplinary themes:
- Manufacturing: advanced manufacturing, additive manufacturing, industrial and smart manufacturing and automation, AI-driven production systems, manufacturing cybersecurity and digital threads, distributed manufacturing operations, manufacturing data infrastructure and interoperability, manufacturing logistics, biomanufacturing, semiconductor and microelectronics manufacturing, advanced sensing and metrology, materials-by-design and accelerated materials development for manufacturing, materials informatics and AI-enabled materials discovery for manufacturing.
- Energy and sustainability: energy storage and critical materials, energy conversion and generation, carbon management and climate technologies, grid modernization and distributed energy, electronics for power conversion and distribution, energy-resilient systems and infrastructure, energy systems operations and markets, energy supply chains, energy asset management, advanced materials for electronics and energy applications, water-energy nexus, combustion and propulsion systems, critical-mineral processing / separation / recovery / recycling, sustainable and synthetic fuels, transportation system operations, space-based energy harvesting.
Successful applicants will have the opportunity to collaborate with Georgia Tech’s interdisciplinary research institutes, including the Georgia Tech Manufacturing Institute, the Strategic Energy Institute, the Brooks Byers Institute for Sustainable Systems, and the Institute for Matter and Systems. These institutes offer access to leading core facilities, such as the Advanced Manufacturing Pilot Facility and the Advanced Battery Center.
Applicants will be considered at all ranks and in all schools in the College of Engineering (aerospace, biomedical, chemical & biomolecular, civil & environmental, electrical & computer, industrial & systems, materials science, mechanical).
Joint appointments across two schools are welcomed, but applicants should apply to the school that best fits their research and educational plans via the Tenured/Tenure-Track Faculty openings. In their cover letters, applicants should indicate clearly that they are interested in one of these focal areas.
