The Hicks Research Group at the University of Wisconsin-Madison is looking to a hire an environmental engineering PhD student to work in the area generative artificial intelligence and data centers. In particular this work will focus on understanding the environmental impacts and sustainability implications of this new technology. We are looking for a student to start their studies during the Spring 2027 semester. Familiarity with tools such as life cycle assessment and the concept of industrial ecology are a desired, but not required.
