Project Assistant - Doctoral Candidate (m/f/d)

Job description

  • Contribution to the research project BIOSCALES, including the preparation of a doctoral dissertation in this field (https://cordis.europa.eu/project/id/101296173)
  • Support in participatory system mapping, including synthesis of results and derivation of model assumptions and scenario parameters
  • Development and application of a system dynamics model for regional biomass use systems and assessment of their sustainability impacts
  • Implementation of a multi-objective optimisation framework to identify Pareto-optimal biomass utilisation strategies under competing sustainability objectives
  • Publication and dissemination of results in scientific journals and at international conferences
  • Participation in and contribution to the organisation of project meetings, as well as preparation of project reports

Your Profile

  • Completed Diploma or Master’s degree in Environmental System Sciences, Industrial Ecology, Environmental or Ecological Economics, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or a related field
  • Demonstrated ability to use programming languages for data analysis and modelling (e.g., Python, R)
  • Knowledge of relevant research methods, such as system dynamics modelling and analysis and multi-objective optimisation (please specify in your application); knowledge of life cycle assessment is an advantage
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English
  • High level of commitment and motivation for scientific research
  • High degree of personal responsibility and ability to work collaboratively in an international team.
