Postdoc Position in Circular Economy for Beverages and Packaging with Prof. Dwarak Ravikumar
The Circular Economy and Sustainable Energy and Materials (CESEM) Lab at Arizona State University (ASU) is accepting applications for the position of a post-doctoral researcher. The research will focus on identifying novel approaches, improving the sustainability outcomes and developing guidelines for circular economy solutions for the food, beverages, and packaging industry. The research will require in-depth skills in lifecycle assessment (LCA) and the environmental and economic evaluation of circular economy strategies.
The post-doctoral researcher will be based out of the School of Sustainable Engineering and the Built Environment (SSEBE). The position will offer the candidate opportunities to work in an eco-system of faculty, researchers and educators at ASU working on addressing complex sustainability challenges and facilitating a transition to a circular economy through interdisciplinary approaches. The post-doctoral researcher will have opportunities to collaborate with researchers and industry partners at the ASU-Starbucks Center working at the intersection food systems and packaging, the economy, the environment, and the society.
Research experience in SimaPro (or GaBi or OpenLCA), ecoinvent and Python (or a comparable programming language) is necessary. A degree in engineering, while being preferred, is not necessary. Preference will be given to candidates with prior research experience covering food systems, beverages or packaging.
