Upcoming LCSA MEETING

With the upcoming conference in Beijing just around the corner, a couple key announcements for the LCSA Section.  All Industrial Ecology Sections will be meeting at the last time slot of the Tuesday, July 9th from 17:00-18:30 hours.  Key discussion points will be:

  • Member introductions: a chance for everyone to introduce themselves and tell us about their research and teaching interests.
  • Elections: The LCSA will hold elections this year in the fall, so we will discuss timing and the process.
  • Member input: the ISIE is working on becoming more member-driven and this means that we will be seeking ways to receive input from members. We would like to encourage each section to solicit ideas from members around how the section can be more useful to them.
  • ISIE support: Open discussion on what kind of support can the ISIE provide to the LCSA section. How can the ISIE increase the LCSA section effectiveness? What kinds of tools, structures, or support programs need to be in place that would be of help?

In the Spring Quarterly, we asked for your input on courses and materials related to LCA and LCSA.  The survey is still open so please share your LCA teaching approaches:

Life cycle assessment (LCA) & Life Cycle Sustainability Assessment (LCSA) have grown in use over the past few decades. Courses in LCA/LCSA have become more common, and many textbooks and training materials are now available for educating students on the use and interpretation of LCA/LCSAs. The LCSA section of ISIE aims to become a better resource for our members on the texts and tools related to LCA/LCSA training. As such, we would like to collect information on the courses and materials used by our members to teach LCA/LCSA. If you teach an LCA or LCSA related course (at any age/training level),

A summary of the survey results will be shared through the ISIE website with all ISIE members.
