EEIO Special Sessions at 2019 conferences

Wed, 14 Nov 2018 05:00:45 -0500Dear EEIO section members,
We are very pleased to have this new section-specific ISIE forum available (https://is4ie.org/forum/inputoutput). It provides all section members with a great platform to communicate directly with each other. Main feature are:
- Everybody can see posts
- Only members can open topics, respond to topics and can subscribe to receive notifications of new topics
- An overview of forum activity will be included in the monthly newsletter
We would like to kick-start the discussion by asking EEIO members to propose/discuss special sessions on EEIO at the 2019 ISIE conference at at Tsinghua University on July 7-11, 2019 (http://isie2019.env.tsinghua.edu.cn).
Please note that we are not collecting or passing on these proposals, they need to be submitted through the conference submission system (deadline 30th November 2018). What we do encourage, however, is that members use this forum to propose topics and ask for feedback and contributions from other members to form well-organised sessions.
Finally, we would also like to point out that in the week prior to the ISIE conference the 2019 IIOA conference will take place in Glasgow, Scotland from 30 June to 5 July 2019 (https://www.iioa.org/conferences/27th/conference.html). Likewise, proposals for organised sessions on EEIO can be submitted to this conference as well and again we encourage members to make suggestions and find contributors via this platform (https://www.iioa.org/conferences/27th/call_for_papers.html > deadline 28th December 2018).
Kind regards,
EEIO Section chairs Tommy Wiedmann and Richard Wood

Mon, 26 Nov 2018 08:34:02 -0500Dear all,
I was just wondering if others were organising a special session across the different MRIO databases that are available. Two potential parts are the various strands of intercomparison work, and the overview of efforts to update the various MRIO databases (or create new ones). If anyone is already thinking along these lines &/or if anyone would like to contribute to it, drop a line here. I for one would be interested in the output of such a session.
best
Richard
ps - I would also love to see some sessions organised around scenario modelling, IO and circular economy, demand-side policy, hybridisation, etc.etc - 4 days until the deadline for special sessions for both ISIE and IIO

Thu, 29 Nov 2018 00:28:46 -0500Would anyone be interested in joining a Special Session on Hybrid LCA at the ISIE2019 conference in Tsinghua? I'm planning to present an update from our group on this topic and it would be great if we could bundle work from others into a Special Session. Guillaume, maybe you are interested? Anyone else?
Many thanks.

Thu, 06 Dec 2018 20:48:04 -0500Hi everyone.
Just submitted this abstract for a Special Session on Hybrid LCA at the ISIE2019 conference in Tsinghua.
Any other takers?!?

Developments in Hybrid Life Cycle Assessment
Hybrid life cycle assessment (LCA) has been developed for almost 40 years, but its practical applications are still limited. This Special Session brings together recent developments in methodology and data for hybrid LCA. It includes practical case studies, demonstrating an expanded scope of applications for this important method in Industrial Ecology.
Tentative Speakers:
Presentation A) Guillaume Majeau-Bettez and Maxime Agez, Canada
Presentation B) Man Yu and Thomas Wiedmann, Australia
