9th Annual Industrial Symbiosis Research Symposium

Tianjin Economic-Technological Development Area (TEDA), Tianjin, China

18-20 October 2012

The objective of the 9th Annual Industrial Symbiosis Research Symposium (ISRS) is to explore how the visible hand of government interacts with and complements the invisible hand of the market in the planning and development of eco-industrial parks (EIPs) and the circular economy in different contexts. As the annual ISRS will take place in China for the first time, it will provide the participants with an excellent opportunity to compare and contrast the Chinese practice and experience of developing EIPs with its international peers.

The 9th Annual Industrial Symbiosis Research Symposium (ISRS) will be convened in the Tianjin Economic-Technological Development Area (TEDA), one of China’s leading eco-industrial parks.  The Symposium runs from 18-20 October 2012, back to back with the Third ISIE Asia-Pacific Meeting to be held at Tsinghua University, Beijing, China on 20-21 October 2012. Apart from field visits to the TEDA-based companies on the morning of 20 October, participants will also be able to visit the burgeoning Sino-Singapore Tianjin Eco-City en route from TEDA to Tsinghua University, Beijing.
