ISIE-SEM Summer School

Dear Colleagues,

We are excited to announce a unique learning opportunity scheduled for August 23rd (2 PM - 9 PM) and August 24th (6 PM - 9 PM), just before the upcoming Joint Socio-Economic Metabolism (SEM) Section Conference and the Asia-Pacific (AP) Conference of the International Society for Industrial Ecology (ISIE), to be held 24-27 August 2024 in Beijing, China. Prof. Zhi Cao from Nankai University and Prof. Stefan Pauliuk from University of Freiburg will be hosting a hands-on mini summer school titled "Dynamic Material Flow Analysis with Python for Designing Eco-civilization."

This mini summer school, organized as a hackathon, is designed for students at all levels who are already familiar with Material Flow Analysis (MFA). It will focus on teaching participants how to construct their own dynamic MFA models using readily available Python libraries and datasets.

For those interested in enhancing their practical skills and diving deeper into the world of sustainable material management, this is a perfect opportunity. You'll get to apply your knowledge in a dynamic and collaborative setting, guided by experts in the field.

You can find the detailed program via this link: https://lnkd.in/gYhhFW-7. To apply, please send an email to either Zhi Cao at zhicao[at]nankai.edu.cn or to Stefan Pauliuk at stefan.pauliuk[at]indecol.uni-freiburg.de.

We look forward to welcoming you to Beijing and to an enriching experience that promises to enhance your understanding and capabilities in applying dynamic MFA toward eco-civilization design.

Best regards,
Zhi Cao & Stefan Pauliuk
