The Joint 11th International Society for Industrial Ecology (ISIE) Socio-Economic Metabolism section conference and the 5th ISIE Asia-Pacific Conference was in Melbourne, Australia, 17-19 November 2015. The conference was chaired by Heinz Schandl of the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (CSIRO).

For early career researchers – graduate students (masters and PhD) and recently awarded PhDs (within the last 3 to 4 years) – the Student Organising Committee arranged additional prizes, activities and workshops for the conference. The schedule of activities included an all day workshop on Sunday 16 November.
