Abstract :
South Africa faces mounting pressures from resource depletion, waste accumulation, and unemployment. The purpose of this theme is to highlight the need for localised circular economy principles that are aligned to South Africa’s unique socio-economic and ecological realities. This session invites critical reflection from circular economy professionals and practitioners on how circularity can be adapted in South Africa, not only for environmental gains but for inclusive development, job creation, and regenerative growth.
