Session format: Panel Discussion + ice breaker/networking
Session Description: The session will host a panel discussion followed by an opportunity to network with fellow island-enthusiasts through an interactive session format. The panel consists of specialists in environmental policy, resource experts, researchers and industry representatives, all of whom have extensive knowledge working with the Pacific islands. This session promises to offer inter-disciplinary perspectives on the current and ongoing challenges and achievements for industrial ecology in island states, along with specific action areas for resilience and resource self-sufficiency.

Panelists
- Amardeep Wander, Environmental Scientist & Project Director at the Asia Pacific Waste Consultants (APWC). Dr. Amardeep has deep engagement with intergovernmental projects in the Pacific, working across policy, waste, fisheries and marine industries.
- (Anthony) Shun Fung Chiu, member of International Resource Panel. Dr. Chiu is a specialist in industrial engineering, sustainable consumption and production, eco-industrial development, and resource efficient and cleaner production.
- Anna Gero, Research Principle at the Institute for Sustainable Futures, University of Technology Sydney. Anna has extensive experience working in the Pacific on issues related to climate change, food and water security.
- Rui Jing, Research Associate in School of Engineering at Cardiff University. Dr Jing’s research spans multi-energy system modelling, urban energy transition, climate resilience energy systems, and energy-related nexus research.
