Description: The EEIO-Frontiers session is open to the latest research on data, methods and applications of the EEIO models. Presentations includes scientific findings and policy suggestions derived by the EEIO developments in environmental footprint analysis, low carbon technologies, supply chain analysis, network analysis and waste generation. Each presentation will last 15 minutes, including 5 minutes for questions and answers.

  • Minute 0-5: Welcome by session chair and introduction to topic:
  • Minute 5-20: “Measuring environmental performance: The carbon footprint of a Colombian university” by Enrique Gilles (Colegio de Estudios Superiores de Administración), Angela Garcia Alaminos (UCLM Spain), Jorge Zafrilla (UCLM Spain ), Fabio Monsalve, (UCLM Spain).

  • Minute 65-70: Break
  • Minute 70-85: “Non-hazardous industrial waste generation in the United States environmentally extended input-output (EEIO) model)” by Aymane Eddahmani, Marian Chertow, Peter Berrill, Xiao Li, Stijn Van Ewijk (Yale University)
  • Minute 85-100: “Incorporating new technologies in EEIO models - Advanced biofuels sector” by Cindy Azuero (Georgia Tech), Wesley Ingwersen (US Environmental Protection Agency), Valerie Thomas (Georgia Tech)
  • Minute 100-115: “Input-Output Based Network Analysis of Subnational Cobalt Use in the US” by Miriam Stevens, Shweta Singh (Purdue University)
  • Minute 115-120: Discussion and closing
