Gordon Research Seminar on Industrial Ecology was a great success!

Students

The Gordon Research Seminar for students and young professionsls entitled "The Role of Industrial Ecology in Reaching the Sustainable Development Goals" was aligned with the GRC's overarching topic. This year's GRS in Les Diablerets, Switzerland, had the largest participation yet, with 70 young researchers from all over the world, and was organized by Mengya Tao, UC Santa Barbara, USA, and Morgan Edwards, MIT, USA. There were twelve presentations and two poster sessions over the course of two days covering a wide range of cutting-edge scientific research that were related to the SDGs. A thought-provoking panel discussion on "Building a Mutually-Beneficial Relationship Between Mentor and Mentee" involved five prominent panelists, who shared their rich experiences and viewpoints with our young scholars.

Joe Bozeman from the University of Illinois at Chicago, USA, and Alexandra Lavers Westin from the Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden, were elected chairs for the next Gordon Research Seminar. Big congratulations and we wish you a very successful Gordon Research Seminar in 2020!
