Dear Colleagues,
We are pleased to invite you to the second session of the ISIE-EEIO “Data Matter” Webinar Series 2026. This webinar series provides a platform for researchers and practitioners in the industrial ecology and EEIO community to engage with the latest developments in Environmentally Extended Input-Output (EEIO) datasets and to learn directly from the developers advancing these global data infrastructures.
For this session, we are honored to welcome Dr. Liyuan Wei from the Industrial Ecology Virtual Laboratory (IELab), Australia. She will be presenting the latest progress regarding the GLORIA Dataset and its new version.
Speaker Bio:
Dr. Liyuan Wei is a postdoctoral researcher in industrial ecology with the Integrated Sustainability Analysis (ISA) team at the School of Physics, The University of Sydney. Her research focuses on multi-regional input-output (MRIO) modelling, environmental footprint analyses, and sustainable living pathways under demographic and socioeconomic changes. She is a core member of the development team of the Global Resource Input-Output Assessment database (GLORIA), a globally harmonized MRIO framework built using the IELab infrastructure at the University of Sydney for the UN International Resource Panel (UN IRP) to support updates to the material footprint accounts as part of the UN IRP Material Flows Database. GLORIA also served as the analytical model of the Sustainable Consumption and Production Hotspots Analysis Tool (SCP-HAT) and the UNEP Global Footprint Tool, enabling the assessment of environmental and social pressures and impacts of countries’ final demand on global resources and ecosystems and supporting evidence-based sustainability policymaking.
