HESTIA is dedicated to improving the accuracy and consistency of environmental data for food products. By providing free, open-source, and open-access data, they empower farmers, businesses, and researchers to better understand and mitigate the environmental impacts of the food sector.
At the Hackathon, participants will have the opportunity to contribute to various projects, including:
- Converting HESTIA data to your own software or datasets.
- Developing new indicators for environmental impacts.
- Structuring datasets into HESTIA format and conducting LCA calculations.
- Extracting, interpreting, and analyzing data.
- Enhancing API documentation.
- Debugging code.
- Improving connectivity with other databases like ecoinvent.
The HESTIA Hackathon in Barcelona is scheduled for September 7th-8th, coinciding with LCA Food.
