University of Debrecen in Hungary, Department of Environmental Economics is organizing the second edition of the workshop entitled “Size of the Society” on April 21st, 2023 and offers ISIE members attendance free of charge.
This one-day workshop will feature a few plenary talks, a "Work-in-progress" session, a "Recent advances in material stock research" session, and a discussion titled "Science communication in the era of a global ecological crisis," with the presence of leading ISIE SEM researchers, local NGO representatives, and journalists in attendance.
The conference will provide an international platform for academics, policymakers, and stakeholders from civil society to discuss recent research results and how these results can be transferred to actors outside of academia. The event intends to facilitate discussion between the actors specialized or interested in the following topics:
- services of the material stocks for society;
- concept of the material services at the micro and macro scale;
- the role of material stocks in sustainability transition;
- material stocks and inequality at various levels.
