This research advances a study on plastic waste management in San Andres, island part of the Colombian archipelago in the Caribbean. Single-used plastics overload the island area of 57 km2 and affects the touristic sceneries. This research studies the material flows of single-used plastics on the island and describes waste management models in place. Recommendations include circular economy models to improve waste management of single used plastics. The research is carried out by Sebastian Noriega, student of the School of Management of the Universidad de los Andes and is supervised by professor Bart van Hoof.
