The Industrial Ecology Open Online Course (IEooc) is a collection of web-based teaching material on industrial ecology background, methods, and applications. It documents and explains some of the ‘soft’ knowledge around industrial ecology concepts, methods, data, and applications that is needed to conduct state-of-the-art industrial ecology research. The material can guide new industrial ecology researchers towards conducting sound science for sustainability.
The course has been online now for three years and has grown quite a bit since it was first released. Last year, a new section on 'Energy and Sustainability' was added, as well as numerous readings, lectures, and exercises on a broad array of industrial ecology topics, including: environmental footprints, sustainability challenges in the steel cycle, dynamic LCI, and sustainability indicators.
