We are delighted to announce a new ISIE section - “Island Industrial Ecology” (or Island-IE). The purpose of this Section is to conduct industrial ecology research on islands to generate insights that supports policies, businesses, and communities for building resilient and sustainable island systems. Islands are excellent unique whole-systems for Industrial Ecology scholarship, and offer a rare opportunity for sustainability research and transformation. In addition to classic industrial ecology approaches, this Section will foster transdisciplinary research to engage stakeholders to develop strategies for more inclusive resource-use patterns on islands. You can read more about the Section and its activities here. If you’d like to be involved, whether you conduct research on an island or not, to network with island institutions, or simply to stay in touch with its activities, please join as member by clicking here.
