I am developing early state sustainability assessment methods for innovative proto-opto-electro mechanical systems.

Details

I started with technical biology and the investigation of enzymatic phosphate release from agricultural residues towards sustainable fertilization without the risk of eutrophication. Driven by sustainable research topics and biological simulations, I pursued my PhD in the area of waste gas recycling. Thereby I developed modeling tools for risk minimization in bioprocess upscaling to maximize CO2/CO fixation. I also investigated the economic feasibility of different fermentation methods by analyzing the market and evaluating the overall potential of the process.
Recently, I am developing early state sustainability assessment methods for innovative proto-opto-electro mechanical systems. Thereby, I perform quantitative ex-ante life cycle assessments (LCA) to support the technology developers in finding the most promising design option from a sustainability perspective.
