Dr. - Arch. Elisabetta Palumbo is a senior researcher and lecturer at the Institute of Sustainability in Civil Engineering (INaB) of the RWTH Aachen University (DE) and contract professor at the University of Bergamo (IT). Currently is the Project manager and scientific expert on behalf of INaB for the LIFE MAGIS – MAde Green in Italy Scheme project (funded by EU LIFE18 GIE/IT/000735).
Served as a research fellow for the University of Florence (from 2008 to 2012) and the University of Bologna (from 2014 to 2017 the University of Bologna).
From 2012 to 2014 she was appointed Director of the Italian Innovation Pole for Sustainable Construction (Abruzzo Region).
Author and reviewer of several papers in international peer-reviewed journals, she is also the author of a book on Tools and Indicators for supporting the Design of natural stone envelopes.

Research Interests

Her main fields of research are sustainable performances of materials/products and technical solutions based on Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and Product Environmental Footprint (PEF) methods, Ecolabelling and Environmental Product Declaration (EPD), Sustainable Building Rating Systems, Level(s) framework, and tools supporting the circular economy evaluation.
