The impact of our research and teaching is enhanced by working closely with diverse organisations on innovations for sustainability and their implementation in practice. The University of Surrey is actively pursuing its sustainability priorities to which CES makes a major contribution through initiatives such as management of water and energy systems in ‘living lab’ experiments, through leadership of the University’s Strategic Research Theme on Sustainability and the integration of sustainability teaching into all of the University’s taught programmes.

Appointees will have a proven track record of publishing world-class research and a strong commitment to teaching. They will be expected to extend the Centre’s research and teaching capabilities, while enhancing its existing strengths (https://www.surrey.ac.uk/centre-environment-sustainability). Their research will develop new interdisciplinary solutions to address the urgent sustainability issues of our times and is expected to involve partnership with diverse stakeholders in academia, business, industry, policy and/or civil society.
