Sustainability Project Engineer

The role will report into the RBIS Sr. Manager for Sustainability whilst partnering with global functional and regional business leaders. This position will coordinate, align and proactively implement sustainability initiatives encompassing the full value chain of the companys products and solutions, and our 2025 sustainability goals. A deep understanding of sustainability and hands-on experience in working cross functional organization is required.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Partner with Sr Manager to develop roadmap to deliver specific 2025 sustainability goals

  • Collaborate with the internal AD organisation to to deliver the roadmap

  • Develop tools to embed sustainability goal into organisational habits and culture

  • Identify external stakeholder network for specific sustainability goals

  • Research and monitor appropriate and relevant sustainability issues

  • Partner with the PLM and Innovation in developing products and executing the roadmap of having a portfolio of sustainable products in each category segment

  • Develop internal SOP to report out against sustainability goal

  • Support Sr Manager to develop and deliver knowledge building tools within the organisation


Qualifications

 

  • Bachelors degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Environmental Policy, Industrial Ecology, Anthropology or related field.

  • 3-5 years of experience working in sustainability in a corporate setting

  • Excellent understanding of generalist sustainability concepts, including social and environmental standards (The Natural Step, Future Fit Business Benchmarks, Carbon Disclosure Project, Global Reporting Initiative, etc.)

  • Deep subject matter expertise on one sustainability concept (eg GHG)

  • Strong knowledge of social and environmental trends.

  • Excellent organizational and people skills, project management skills, with an ability to openly convey information to team members in a timely, concise manner.

  • Well-developed interpersonal skills for high-level interaction with other functions and brands.

  • Excellent communication, presentation and facilitation skills, including communicating and marketing sustainable efforts.

  • Highly analytical, can synthesize information and offer recommendations/solutions.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with others.

  • Strong leadership skills. Ability to lead, contribute, and influence others in a team-based organization

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with cross-functional business teams within our global network and with external parties.

  • Ability to develop and maintain excellent working relationships with stakeholders of multiple levels, within and outside the company.

  • Ability to travel globally up to 25% of the year.

  • Willingness to learn new skills.
