Civil Engineering Division

 The Department of Engineering at Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (PUCP) is calling for the recruitment of:

Three (3) full-time Assistant Professors (tenure track) at the Civil Engineering Division

A full-time position implies a weekly 40-hour dedication to University tasks, including 10 teaching hours. The remaining hours should be appropriately divided to prepare materials, research and social responsibility activities, as well as following students in their classes and theses. Moreover, active participation in commissions linked to the academic development of the Department of Engineering is expected. 

 Admission requirements 

  • PhD* degree related to any of these fields within Civil Engineering: Construction, Structural Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Mobility and Transportation, Materials Science, Water Resources or Environmental Engineering. 
  • At least one (1) ISI publication.
  • Languages: English or another foreign language. 
  • Ideally applicants should be 40 years of age or below. 

 (*) Exceptionally, PhD candidates that can proof that they will be presenting their thesis within the next few months will be allowed to participate. In this case, a letter of proof by the PhD advisor or the University of origin will be required indicating the expected date of the defense.

  • Three (3) statements (one single page using A4 paper format) regarding the following topics: 1) professional motivation, 2) teaching objectives and 3) research objectives.

Publication of preselected candidates: Friday, June 22nd 2018

Publication of final results:  Thursday, June 28th 2018 

Contract begins: August 1st 2018 (Second semester of the academic year) 

If the diploma has been obtained abroad, in order for the contract to begin, the selected applicant must fulfil the revalidation or recognition of the degree before the Peruvian authorities.

 Moreover, when necessary, the selected candidate will have to complete his or her migration process with the Migration authorities in Peru (Superintendencia Nacional de Migraciones del Perú) to obtain an identity card for foreigners, as well as the clearance to work in the country.
