Department of Forest Biomaterials activities include teaching, research, extension programs, continuing education, and technical services that benefit the pulp and paper, wood products and housing, biomaterials and bioenergy industries. Many of our major research and extension initiatives are interdisciplinary in nature and take advantage of faculty expertise from other areas within CNR, across N.C. State and around the world.

This position will require management of faculty and graduate teams to develop distance-education courses programs in the area of bioproducts and bioenergy. The person will be expected to co-develop and teach a course on environmental science and the bioeconomy. The position will be responsible for managing teaching teams, coordinating appropriate pedagogical training using available campus resources, participating in course and program assessment, and ensuring best practices for effective online course instruction. The person will be setting standards for the course designs. This is a four year project with annual review.

Masters Degree in education, Masters Degree in STEM field with DE education experience, or Ph.D. in STEM field with DE education experience.

Skills in best-practices for distance-education course development and teaching. Teaching experience in STEM

Experience and education in sustainability, environmental science, or sustainability in STEM related field with experience in project management and course development for synchronous or asynchronous online teaching. Familiarity (one year of experience) with MOODLE or a similar learning management system.
