The Energy and Resource Systems Analysis Laboratory (ERSAL) at Northwestern University is seeking a postdoctoral researcher to lead the development of systems models for evaluating the benefits of advanced manufacturing technology policies from energy, climate, economic, and resource use perspectives, and over different geographic and temporal scales.  Recent examples of relevant ERSAL research projects include evaluation of the societal benefits of additive manufacturing, advanced chemicals processing methods, and advanced vehicle manufacturing technologies.  The ideal candidate will have experience in techno-economic energy systems modeling and optimization, with additional experience in industrial process modeling and life cycle assessment being highly desirable.  The initial appointment will be for one year, with renewal up to a maximum of three years possible, pending satisfactory performance and availability of funds.
