Life Cycle Analysis Postdoctoral Scholar

We are looking for a postdoctoral scholar skilled in life cycle analysis to join our research team at the Institute on the Environment at the University of Minnesota! Our work focuses on sustainability solutions in agri-food systems; energy transitions; climate mitigation and adaptation; responsible consumption, production, and investments; and sustainable, thriving communities. To advance our agri-food systems research, we are looking for someone with demonstrated experience constructing complex LCAs, preferably of biophysical systems. Specific work will include developing:

  • baseline life cycle greenhouse gas inventories of animal-based food/feed co-products across corporate direct operations and supply chain operations
  • scenario analyses to examine the greenhouse gas reduction potential and related costs of employing alternative production practices and/or comparative analyses for identifying relative environmental preferabilities
  • peer-review publications, written reports, tabular summaries, and visualizations for communicating results of analyses to external audiences

In addition to LCA experience, we are looking for someone who excels at juggling multiple tasks, proactively communicating with team members, and is interested in impact-oriented public engagement with stakeholders to support decision-making and implementation. If interested, please follow posted URL and fill out Google Form with your name, resume/CV, and a brief description of your LCA experience. Salary is $55k (100% FTE appointment) and we will review on a rolling basis.
