We are looking for multiple postdoc associates in the broader fields of AI for Environmental Sustainability (e.g., Environmental Data Science, AI for Climate, etc.) at Cornell University. These senior researcher positions are supported by a philanthropic gift and will offer "market-competitive" salaries (starting at ~70,000/yr) and benefits (including 10% match of salary to retirement account) to successful candidates via these named postdoc fellowships. The candidate could start as early as October 2022. Candidates with suitable backgrounds and publication records (at least three high-impact journal publications as the lead author) are encouraged to apply. The field of AI has a strong history at Cornell University. Many early researchers conducting studies in the field were faculty or students at Cornell. Examples include Frank Rosenblatt (one of the pioneers of AI known for his foundational work on perceptrons and deep learning) and Gerard Salton (the father of information retrieval). Cornell has been at the forefront of work in AI for years.
