The Yao Lab at the Yale Center for Industrial Ecology invites applications for a Postdoctoral position available for sustainability assessment of wastewater treatment and carbon capture and storage (CCS) technologies. The Yao Lab develops systems analysis tools to understand the carbon, environmental, and economic implications of different emerging technologies throughout their life cycle. The research aims to assess, identify, and optimize different pathways for effective wastewater treatment and carbon storage. https://yao.research.yale.edu/
This is an interdisciplinary postdoc position that will have collaborations with faculty and research scientists in different disciplines including engineering, hydrology, and geology.
The position will focus on:
- Conducting life cycle assessment (LCA) and techno-economic analysis (TEA) for wastewater treatment plants and new technologies in CCS.
- Working in an interdisciplinary team to lead and develop innovative systems modeling frameworks to understand the technical effectiveness, environmental implications, and net carbon benefits/risks of CCS-enabled wastewater treatment.
The ideal candidate should have a Ph.D. in engineering, environmental science, or systems analysis with LCA and TEA skills demonstrated by high-quality peer-reviewed publications relevant to the position.
Interested candidates should email a cover letter and their CV, along with a list of at least three references to Dr. Yuan Yao, y.yao@yale.edu.
