The Industrial Ecology Programme at NTNU (IndEcol) is seeking a Postoctoral Fellow to advance the study of material efficiency, the circular economy, zero-emission neighborhoods, and/or sustainable consumption as strategies to contribute to climate change mitigation and ecosystem protection. Candidates should have competence in relevant methods such as life-cycle assessment, input-output analysis, material flow analysis, statistics, and computer programming. The research would be done in a team of scientists and utilize one of two modeling approaches. The Resource efficiency and Climate Change modeling framework focuses on the functional performance and dynamics of product stocks over time and combines life-cycle assessment, engineering models, and material flow analysis in novel ways. The EXIOBASE multiregional input-output model can be modified to correspond to scenario specification, and technology improvements reflecting specific changes in energy supply and demand, material use, and recycling, as well as changes in consumption patterns and lifestyles.
