The Industrial Ecology Programme at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) is looking for a PostDoctoral fellow to work on the interface between industrial ecology and integrated assessment modeling, with a focus on the assessment of material efficiency strategies and their role in climate policy. The research program combines the approach of the International Resource Panel's Resource Efficiency and Climate Change report with insights and approaches from input-output economics (Exiofuture) and econometrics to develop scenarios of material production, fabrication, and product manufacturing/construction. Archetype models of buildings, roads, railroads, and vehicles are used to quantify potential material savings and emissions reductions on the product level and are upscaled to a regional and global level using an established approach.
We are looking for a individual with a strong competence in industrial ecology, economics, or a technical discipline, good analytical and programming skills, and an ability to function in a team. The work is supervised by Professor Edgar Hertwich. Professors Richard Wood and Anders Hammer Strømman are part of the team. Trondheim is the place of duty.
Applications only through Jobbnorge. NB short deadline!
