Ref 932 is a three year full-time position starting 1st October 2010 undertaking community energy case studies and scenario building

Ref 931 is a two year full-time position starting 1st January 2011 surveying community energy projects and networks

The researchers will work with Dr Adrian Smith on 'Community Innovations in Sustainable Energy', funded by Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council. The project examines innovation and diffusion of small-scale sustainable energy projects amongst local communities in the UK. A survey, network analysis, case studies and scenarios will assess the innovative characteristics of community energy initiatives, diffusion strategies and success, relating findings to wider debates on innovation, socio-technical transitions and sustainable development, drawing lessons for sustainability practitioners and policymakers. You must have (or be about to obtain), a PhD (or equivalent) and have a broad knowledge of current research on community energy for sustainability.
